✔ Un 13 de Enero pero de 1988 explotaban 80 kilos de dinamita en el Edificio Mónaco en Santa María de los Ángeles, uno de los barrios más exclusivos del sector de El Poblado en Medellín. El edificio era, nada más y nada menos que el búnker privado de Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria y su familia. En el momento del atentado se encontraban en el edificio la esposa y los hijos de Pablo Escobar, el Capo habría abandonado la instalación antes del amanecer. El bombazo destruyó ventanales a cuatro cuadras a la redonda y dejó tres muertos y 10 heridos. Cuando las autoridades llegaron al sitio de la explosión se encontraron con que, salvo el penthouse del edificio, ninguno de los otros apartamentos estaba ocupado, pero en cada piso había un derroche de lujo. En la cochera sólo vehículos de colección, motocicletas y hasta una limusina Mercedes Benz. En cada uno de los niveles, toda una galería de arte con cuadros originales de pintores nacionales e internacionales.
